History, especially the US history, and me

2020/06/27 22:09 A second blog series to recall and recommend. This is about the significance of US history to the people around the world. This was inspired by attending the oral defense of Cho-chien Feng yesterday at 2pm through web meeting. Here is his resume as of now .  I knew his dissertation plan for a long time and I had listened to one of his special speeches about some of the content in a special speech gathering of the Taiwanese Association of America in St. Louis last year. I was not inspired of any actions of me until yesterday. It would help me and the author by having a blog series to talk about and learn from that dissertation. This does not mean that I will study that part of history thoroughly or become a historian. I simply think the history of US revolution is a critical step to knowing more about democracy.  Here is a rough list of what has come to my mind, before I dig into his dissertation: Were there immigrants without the heritage of a Britsch or bein...

A dream that reflects or reveal, in my old age

2020/6/26 13:11 A morning nap took me into a new territory of imagination or in-dream-action. In the dream, I was given instruction from a mentor to look for ideas for interviewing some people for new projects by going through a pile of papers he collected with Samson and Tai. We sat on the floor to flip through all the papers looking for ideas or inspiration. Obviously, we could not find anything, not even a beginning point. Pandemic, lockdown, and the words from above

This first draft is for sharing with Pastor Aline. It's been almost half a year that we, the whole world, simmer in the muddle something we hardly know. Our lives, activities, habits, and many things are affected more and more seriously. Today, as we prepare for the special Sunday that we don't have regular online worship service and are encouraged to participate in the online worship services of other churches, I cannot help but think about what we are expected to get out of this in terms our growth, especially the spiritual growth. Another challenge to me is about capturing, documenting, and telling what we can witness regarding this greatest revelation from the above ever since the creation of this world. One of the key things I receive is about the new ways, including the new forms, of worshiping our creator Father, actually the Trinity God. There must be some message attached to whatever we are going through. The first thing, among all the acts of knowledge development, is...
